(wiki-special opens inside the Pokemon Speedway during Happy Hour (final practice) showing Duck, angrily watching on his stopwatch recording Bart's lap-time, then Bart pulls in and Duck angrily comes towards the car)
Duck: You gotta get your head back into this race, Bart! Your lap-times are WAY OFF!
Bart (while in his #40 car): Guess I ain't with it today.
Duck: Oh, yeah?! Perhaps last week's FIGHT WITH BUTTERCUP took something out of you! (in reference to the "2000 Duff 400 Fantasy Edition" wiki)
Bart (while in his #40 car): Hey! What really matters to me is that I came to race my heart and soul out today and tomorrow evening, and I ain't lettin' no whiny green bug-eyed bi--*bleep* lie to my face about a fu--*bleep*--in' oil-leak! *drives off in a huff*
Duck (angrily): *grunts in frustration as he pounds his right foot on the asphalt as Bart drives away to do more laps* *scene cuts to the next morning inside Bart's hauler, showing Bart and Buttercup's TV playing "NASCAR Today" on the NASCAR Network*
Mike Haugher (NASCAR Network / on T.V /with a picture of Barttercup shown in the background tron in the studio): Relationship issues continue for Barttercup, and making matters worse, it MIGHT hurt Team Fastex's chances more and more to clinch the Team Championship next month in Atlanta. (foreshadowing the "2000 NAPA 500 Fantasy Edition" wiki) We were told by Team Fastex's Jack Fassler that Barttercup MUST find a way to sort out their issues from Dover last week and get back together in order to get the whole team back on track.
Pat Anther (NASCAR Network / on T.V / with a picture of Barttercup shown in the background tron in the studio): This is totally sad, Mike. Barttercup hadn't been talking for nearly a week, and they kept themselves isolated during before and after both practices yesterday, and the same thing with this morning's qualifying session. Team Fastex is wondering how can they reunite Battercup and get on with defeating Team REXCOR for the Team Championship? Well, they're gonna have to find out fast with the races winding down--. *Bart shuts T.V off*
Bart: This reeks. I can't even sleep properly without my wife, but if only she said she was sorry for lying to my face last week in Dover, then I would forgive her.
Lisa: C'mon! Grow up, Bart! She NEVER lied to you! You were all along! Duck was--!
Bart: Lisa, I told you! I don't wanna hear it! Quit defending Buttercup, she knows what she did was wrong to the bone! *walks off and slams the hauler door shut*
Lisa (frustrated): HMPH! That Bart! He just DOESN'T LISTEN! He NEVER wants to realize that Duck had INDIGESTION and couldn't warn Bart about the Turn #1 oil leak! Worst of all, blames and accuses his wife Buttercup for supposedly "lying" about the oil leak that forced Buttercup to root him up the track in Turn #1 for 3 consecutive laps until my idiot brother took them BOTH out, surrendering the win to Crocker. This MUST be sort out. *scene cuts to the Team Fastex team meeting*
Jack Fassler: I don't really like the fact Bart and Buttercup are fighting, but we NEED to work out a strategy to reunite them. It's not gonna be easy though.
Timmy: I have an idea, Mr. Fassler! We need to really strategize this plan and the plan is to push Bart up to Buttercup with REXCOR in the territory, and FORCE them to work together and push each other past the REXCOR drivers. This will REALLY help. I GUARANTEE it.
Jack Fassler: Sounds like a brilliant idea, Timmy. Because without Barttercup back together, we can't win this title and save Team Fastex. So I rely on ALL of you to work this plan out. And by the way, since it's gonna thunderstorm tonight, NASCAR chose this racetrack as a SPECIAL opportunity to test out the new anti-rain windshield and special rain-tires invented by Jimmy Neutron, and NASCAR said it will OFFICIALLY be mandatory full-time next year. Congratulations, Mr. Neutron.
Jimmy Neutron: Thank you, Sir. All it took was successful Neutronic technology in order to form new NASCAR tech.
Timmy: You ain't gonna get a good reception from the crowd, Bart after last week's melee you created. I keep tellin' you.
Bart (in unison / Blossom gets introduced and the playoff crowd cheers/roars in the background): Aw, c'mon! They ALWAYS cheer for Team Fastex drivers, they probably had forgotten what happened in Dover last week!
Timmy: Well, I don't count on it, you'll find out now.
Track P.A Announcer (voice only): Starting 13th, for Team Fastex, driver of the #40 Coors Light Chevrolet, from Springfield, Illinois, Bart Simpson! *as Bart enters the stage, the playoff crowd begins to BOO and JEER him LOUDLY*
Bart (in unison to the playoff crowd booing/jeering him LOUDLY): WHAT THE--?! *scene cuts to the crowd booing/jeering him LOUDLY and waving anti-Bart signs and pro-Buttercup signs at him* *scene cuts to the track during the KWIK-E-MART pre-race show*
Mike Massaro (ESPN): What a FROSTY-COLD reception the Team Fastex fans gave Bart Simpson! They HAVE NOT forgotten what Bartholomew Jojo Simpson had done to his wife in Dover last week. And probably these boos and jeers would REALLY teach Bart a lesson for his wrongdoings last week.
Paul Page (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): ESPN welcomes you to the Pokemon Speedway here in Pallettown, Japan for this evening's running of the Pokemon 500! This is indeed a special race because not only the last night race of the year and inside a new NASCAR facility, but this is THE first race NASCAR will race on an oval IN THE RAIN, because there is extremely bad weather in the area, and they said it will begin to rain within the first 30 laps. Hello everyone, I'm Paul Page alongside former NASCAR Champion and race-analyst, Benny Parsons. Bob Jenkins has the night off. B.P, this new racing facility will be the ULTIMATE challenge for these teams because not only this is the first time they will oval-race in the rain, this is the first ELIMINATOR round. Please tell us about that, B.P.
Benny Parsons (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): Indeed it is crucial, Paul. These drivers NEED to rank high in the points and AVOID that cut-line in the standings, because by the end of the race if some drivers are below that cut-line without a playoff win, those drivers can kiss their chances of helpin' their team win the Team Championship goodbye. So far, Eddy McRich hasn't been so lucky. He had mechanial issues with 2 laps to go in Springfield, sendin' him finishin' in the mid 30's, and a crash in Dover last week wound him up finshin' dead last in 43rd. He NEEDS a win to advance into the playoffs with just 1 race left in the first round of playoff competition.
Paul Page (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): The BIGGEST headlines of this race weekend was the fact Barttercup, after last week's melee in Dover, were having relationship issues off the track, and this MIGHT affect the entire Team of Team Fastex. Team Fastex MUST come up with a plan to reunite Barttercup and get them back together in order to keep themselves in the title-hunt.
Benny Parsons (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): Indeed, Paul. Barttercup hadn't been talkin' for about a week, and they STILL have yet to make up their quarrel from Dover last week. I spoke to Jack Fassler this mornin' just before the pre-race activity, and he said that Team Fastex is INDEED workin' on a solution to get Barttercup back together and help the entire team again, and hopefully guide them to a Team Championship victory.
Paul Page (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): Will the cars succeed in the rain this evening? Will Barttercup make up their quarrel by the end of this race this evening? And whom will be locked to the next playoff round? We will find out in 250 laps! The drivers are ready, the fans are ready, Mother Nature is ready, and WE are ready for the start of the Pokemon 500. Let's go trackside to get the command to start the engines!
Track P.A Announcer: And now for the most famous words in all of motorsports, please welcome your Grand Marshals, the hometown heroes and NASCAR Busch Series drivers, the Pokemon Gang! *playoff crowd cheers/roars loudly*
Pokemon Gang: Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!!!! *playoff crowd cheers/roars loudly*
[engines start and rev loudly, in unison to the HYSTERICALLY cheering and roaring crowd]
Paul Page (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring in the background): *as the pace-car pulls onto pit-road* We're glad you're with us on ESPN as the pace-car now pull into the pits! Will the new windshields and rain-tires do the trick later in the race?! We will find out this evening as Eddward Marion and Finbarr Calamitous lead the field down the start/finish line down for the start of Pokemon 500! *cars accelerate to take the green flag, waved by Pickachu, in unison to the HYSTERICALLY cheering/roaring playoff crowd* GREEN FLAG IS OUT! We're racing! The Pokemon 500 is underway!
Paul Page (ESPN): We are getting weather reports from the local doppler radar that rain might be in the area, *in unison, the caution flag comes out for rain* and now here comes the caution! Now we have just heard that it's beginning to rain in Turns 3 & 4 and is coming this way fast, This will now give these teams the ultimate opportunity to try out the new successfully Neutronic rain tires and anti-rain windshields that will be used all throughout next season should Team Fastex prevail in winning the Team Championship this year.
Paul Page (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring Buttercup on): We are coming to 2 laps to go as they come off Turn #4 here in Pallettown, as Buttercup Simpson continues to lead with the Fastex cars trying to boost Bart in 2nd with his wife because Eddy McRich wants to do something to him and go after Buttercup!
Benny Parsons (ESPN / in unison to the playoff crowd cheering/roaring Buttercup on): Man oh man, those REXCOR drivers ARE HUNGRY for Buttercup! Eddy WANTS to advance in the playoffs but somehow Bart ain't cooperatin' with the other drivers to defend his wife's lead! *scene cuts to Timmy's cockpit*
(in Turns 1 & 2, on the entrance to the backstretch)
Timmy (in 7th): C'mon, Bart! What are you doing?! DEFEND your wife! BLOCK the REXCOR drivers! *scene cuts to Bart's cockpit*
Bart (in 3rd): I ain't lettin' that lyin' bi--*bleep* win! I keep tellin' you that! I'm goin' after her and prove her that liars don't win! *scene cuts to Ed's cockpit*
Ed (in 4th / on the low-side / side-by-side with Eddy): Ooh! Can I push the little dickens to Buttercup, now?! *scene cuts to Timmy's cockpit*
Timmy (in 7th): No, Ed! WAIT!!!!! *scene cuts to the track* *Ed accidentally clips Bart, Bart makes contact with Eddy, and Bart goes airbourne, crashing through an unsafe catchfence (Bart screams in horror in unison)* *scene cuts to the playoff crowd gasping LOUDLY in EXTREME horror, then to Bart VIOLENTLY barrel-rolling and crashing into a river, with the #40 Coors Light Chevrolet upside-down, and Bart is pinned underwater in the rain* *scene cuts to Buttercup's cockpit*
Timmy (in 6th / voice only): C'mon, Buttercup! You gotta save Bart!!!! Bart is in serious trouble!!!!
Buttercup (in 1st / slowing down / to herself): HMPH! That probably served him right, for calling me a liar.
Edd ( in 16th / voice only / in a crying way): BUTTERCUP, PLE-HE-HEASE ASSIST BA-HAH-HARRRTT!!!!
Buttercup (in 1st):*stammers in fear, gets more and more scared after seeing Bart's car pinned underwater on the tron* (stuttering): I-I-I-I'M COMING, BART!!!!!! *spins herself out on the frontstretch, and goes backwards on the racetrack, surrendering the lead to Spongebob Squarepants*
Paul Page (ESPN): What's going on here?! Buttercup is spinning! She gets it under control, she's going BACKWARDS on the track! *scene cuts to Buttercup's pit-box*
Duck: Buttercup, what are you doing?! *scene cuts to Buttercup going by Turn #3, then back to Duck* Buttercup, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?!!!! *scene cuts to Buttercup parking her #16 TV Guide Ford by the catchfence Bart broke through, gets out of the #16 car, and makes her way to the scene of the accident*
Buttercup: *spots Bart's 40 Coors Light Chevrolet sinking little by little upside down with Bart pinned underwater* BART!!!! *dives in after him, and swims to the car and struggles to lift up the heavy wrecked racecar* *scene cuts to the ESPN helicopter in the air*
Paul Page (ESPN / voice only): We are seeing now from the chopper *scene cuts to the Team Fastex pit-box* this is HORRIBLE. The car is upside-down, there's a body of water he is in, Bart Simpson is PINNED underwater. *scene cuts back to the river*
Buttercup (in the water): *grunts and groans* UNGH!!!! BART, H-H-HANG ON!!!! *grunts and groans in pain, trying to lift the car up and turn it over* *scene cuts to the ESPN copter-cam*
Paul Page (ESPN) Buttercup had BETTER get Bart outta there, and she better get HERSELF outta there because she will also possibly drown trying to rescue Bart if the car sinks completely if she attempts to pull him outta the car. *scene cuts to the emergency vehicles* Rescue teams are underway, but the remote location to this crash is making it difficult to reach them. *scene cuts to the river*
Buttercup: *grunts and groans while flipping the car over, and keeping it above the water, then tries reaching into the car, and tries taking Bart's helmet off, while Bart's face bleeds* (as she takes Bart's helmet off, with Bart gagging) C'mon! Take a breath, Hon! I'm here!
Bart (as Buttercup tries getting the car afloat): *grunts, groans, and gags*
Buttercup: *as she tries to unbuckle Bart, the car begins to sink* AAAHH!!! BART!!! NO!!! *as the car went deep, and then underwater, Buttercup continues to unbuckle Bart* *scene cuts to the Team Fastex pits watching the rescue on the trons*
Bubbles (in horror): NOOO!!! THEY'RE SINKING!!!! *bawls in fear hugging Timmy*
Rudy: They're done for!!!!
Spongebob: NOOOOO!!!!!!!! (as he did in the Spongebob Squarepants episode, "As Seen On T.V") *scene cuts to the river / underwater*
Buttercup: *struggles to unbuckle Bart, running out of breath, then she FINALLY unbuckles Bart, gets him out of the #40 car, gets him and herself above the water, swims them both to safety, and gets him outta the water, just has emergency vehicles arrive to the scene and takes Bart onto the stretcher and to the ambulance chopper, and he is flown to the hospital* *seen cuts to the Team Fastex pit*
Bubbles: THEY'RE ALRIGHT!!!!
Rolf: *sighs in relief* Rolf thought they were goners!
Timmy: They're alright now, Rolf. We all have nothing to worry about. They're taking care of Bart right now, and Buttercup is going back to her #16 car and bringing it to the hauler to pack up and go home. And by the way, Spongebob, you won the race since the race ended under caution.
Spongebob YEAH, OH YEAH!!!!! *scene fades into the hospital*
*rain and thunder rumble is heard in the background*
Duck: *comes in NOT pleased with Bart*
Bart (weakly): D-D-Duck... *takes deep breath and sighs* I'm glad you're here...
Duck: To let you know, Bartholomew, you DESERVED this after treating Buttercup badly. And you should be VERY ashamed of yourself.
Bart (weakly): But, Duck! She lied--.
Duck (shouting): I'M NOT HERE TO DEBATE WITH YOU, MR. SIMPSON!
Bart: *gulps nervously*
Duck: To tell you the honest truth, Bartholomew Jojo Simpson, there WAS oil on the track in Turn #1 at Dover. And the reason why I "never said anything" is because I had to make a quick "pit-stop" after suffering from indigestion from that greasy food place we went to. (referring to the "2000 Duff 400 Fantasy Edition" wiki) *Bart tears up in unison* And you were 100 percent wrong into putting the blame on your wife, Buttercup and accuse her of lying about the disaster. So therefore, you should VERY ashamed of yourself and you must owe everyone on Team Fastex, ESPECIALLY your wife, Buttercup a HUGE, MAJOR apology. And you should be thankful that Buttercup saved your life. She didn't have to do that you know. You're LUCKY Jack isn't here to scold you, and that he left me to do the scolding, and put you on team probation for the rest of the season after your misfortunes.
Bart (tearing up / weakly / sadly): I totally deserved this, Duck. *sad sigh* I was the liar all along. And Buttercup had every right to yell at me and not talk to me for a week. *sad sigh* And now she probably will never forgive me.
Duck: So let's hope she forgives you, and maybe this race will teach you a lesson not to make a jerk out of yourself and accuse other teammates for no reason. *walks out of the room*
(in the hospital with Bart in his hospital bed, with the rain and thunder being heard in the background)
Bart (with tears dripping from his eyes / sadly / weakly): I just Buttercup doesn't.... doesn't.... *nervous gulp*... I don't wanna say it. *door opens slowly* *Bart slowly gasps sadly as he sees Buttercup, looking sad and worried* B-B-B-Buttercup?
Buttercup (sadly / tearing up): *approaches Bart sadly* Hi, baby.... *gets close to Bart* (in a sobbing way) Oh... my... look at you! *sobs in fear*
Bart (weakly / sadly / to Buttercup): I was such an idiot. *sad sigh* And Buttercup... I need to say.... *takes sad deep breath* I am DEEPLY sorry for treating you like sh--*bleep*. You WERE right about the oil-leak at Dover last week. sad sigh* Duck told me before you came in here, that the reason why he "never said anything" *takes sad deep breath* was because he had an indigestion attack and had to use the restroom and he couldn't warn us about the oil-leak. So therefore, Butter-babe.... *sad sigh* I take back everything I said about you, and you are NOT a liar. You were telling the truth all along, and I wouldn't listen. *sad sigh* So Babe.... if you want, you can... can.... *sad gasps* can....
Buttercup (sadly / with tears in her eyes): DIVORCE?! Heck, no! I don't want to part from you forever! You are my LIFE, Bartman! *sad gasps* (softly / sadly / with tears in her eyes) I couldn't let you die. I HAD to save your life, because I can't live without you. *sad gasps* And Butch is MUCH WORSE of an accuser and liar. You are a million times more sympathetic and regretful than he is. I just can't let you go, Bart. I will ALWAYS forgive you, Babe. *sad sniffs, and lips quiver*
Bart (weakly / sadly / with tears in his eyes): And worst of all, *sad gasps* I couldn't even sleep at night without you by my side. *sniffles and sobs in fear and worry*
Buttercup (sadly / in tears / calmly): *as she began to wrap her arms around Bart to hug him* Awwww.... (as she hugs him warmly in forgiveness) don't worry.... I'm here now, Bartza.... I'm back with you forever.... You're DEEPLY forgiven.... *kisses Bart on the cheek slowly* *scene cuts to outside Bart's hospital room*
Edd: GREAT! They're back to normal!
Timmy: *sighs in relief* It's ABOUT TIME they kissed and made up after their week-long quarrel.
Rudy: Now we can get our heads back into this team Championship now that Barttercup's back together again. *scene cuts to Bart and Buttercup tearfully hugging, and the episode ends*

This is the third race of the NASCAR Playoff Series known as the "Chase For The Cup")
This is the last scheduled night race of the year.
This is the ONLY time the NASCAR 2000 Fantasy Edition series races in the rain on an oval, thanks to special anti-raindrop windshields and special oval rain-tires invented by Jimmy Neutron as an addition to NASCAR to use full-time the next season.
On Lap 248 out of 250 laps, after Ed's faulty move, Bart Simpson goes airborne, crashes through the unsafe catchfence, violently barrel-rolls out of the racetrack, and crashes into the river, sending the race leader, Buttercup Simpson (who was still not talking to Bart / suddenly feeling worried) go to back for him and save his life before he drowns to death in his sinking racecar, getting Barttercup back together and apologizing for what they did in Dover the week prior.
